We are celebrating Earth Day the best way we know how: by practicing sustainability through reuse! We will be hosting another one of our popular Clothing Swaps as well as a Collage Crew Kzoo Meet-up on Saturday, April 19th from 11am-2pm. This will be an awesome event for all ages to practice reusing, sharing and creativity! Read below for more information.COLLAGE CREW KZOO MEET UP:
Join us for a FREE hands-on Earth Day celebration and create some collage art by re-using magazines, cardboard, paper, books and more! Enjoy cutting, ripping, gluing and exploring how you can recycle materials into art! This is a drop-in-style event all about creative reuse and expressing yourself. All supplies will be provided, all ages welcome.
The Collage Crew Kzoo Meet-up will take place in the Jerico Gallery, in the south Jerico building. From the cafe, walk the Fulford St sidewalk to the front entrance of the south building. Enter through the front door and you'll find our meet-up taking place just past the stairway.
CLOTHING SWAP:
Bring your clean, gently used clothing and accessories (shoes, belts, purses, jewelry, scarves, hats, etc.) that you no longer need to gift to someone else. You don’t have to bring any items to “shop” - there is zero obligation to bring anything but yourself! No sales, trades, or bartering - all items are FREE! All remaining items will be donated to a local free store. Clothing for all ages, sizes and genders accepted!
The Clothing Swap will be located in the same room as previous swaps at Jerico. Please enter from the cafe or around the back of the building through the double grey doors.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Please DO NOT bring dirty or damaged items or other types of items that create more work for our team, the items will be turned away.
- Bring your items to display on our tables. Please bring a shopping bag with you to take any items you “shop” home. All remaining items will be donated to a local free store.
DONATE:
An optional donation to Jerico of $5 helps us to continue offering sustainable-themed community-building events.
Fiddle Leaf Cafe will be open with delicious tea, coffee, and treats, so be sure to stop in!
