Join us at Hillcrest Park to celebrate Earth Day! We will be planting native rose bushes and cherry trees and removing invasive plants to improve the health of our community green spaces. Local organizations will be present with free games, arts and crafts, refreshments, educational displays, and eco-friendly giveaways.Don't miss this all-ages, free event!
Kid and Family Friendly Activities:
Come Celebrate Earth Day at Hillcrest Park! In addition to being invited to help plant cherry trees, rose bushes, and remove invasive plants, there are a variety of activities planned for kids and families who attend the event.
• Try three different art projects, including fruit and vegetable stamping, designing buttons, and constructing “habitat houses” that you can bring home.
• Visit with Smokey Bear and explore the DNR’s Fire Engine.
• Learn hands-on about birds, bats, bugs, and mammals from local organizations.
• Grab a piece of free fruit from the Skagit Valley COOP or make your own trail mix at the “Trail Mix Bar.”
• 12:00 PM Check out live animals during a fun and informative presentation about biodiversity from Kementari’s Creatures.
• 1:00 PM School-aged kids can participate in a STEM project with Holli from the Skagit Watershed Council.
