Earn-A-Computer| Saturdays at 10 a.m. January 18 to February 22

Earn-A-Computer is a hands-on class that introduces young people ages 8 to 17 to the inner workings and possibilities of computers and the internet — all while getting set to take home a refurbished computer upon successful completion of the course. After completing a consecutive series of six (90-minute) classes digging into everything from online safety to programming and presentation-building, students receive a refurbished computer of their very own.

Students who commit to this series will meet for six Saturday mornings, beginning each week at 10 a.m. (with each class ending at 11:30 a.m.). The first class meeting is Saturday, January 18, and graduation day (the final class, when students will present what they’ve learned and take their computers home!) will be Tuesday, December 10. Students must consistently attend the six consecutive classes to earn their computer.

This class takes place at St. Louis BWorks, located in Soulard at 2414 Menard Street, St. Louis, MO 63104. A parent/guardian must attend the first 15 minutes of the first of the six classes. We also limit each family to two registrants per session, and students must be between the ages of 8 to 17.

The operating system we install is Linux Mint OS (not Windows or Mac OS).
