This month, the one-shot is a homebrew adventure inspired by Dumbest DnD and modified by Dungeon Master Ryan Lessard called “Early Warning System.” A behemoth Roc has been plaguing the pasturelands of a small feudal realm, swooping in without warning and stealing livestock from the grazing herds. But the Roc is a symbol of religious and cultural significance to the locals, making them loathe to K*ll the creature. Your adventuring party has been asked by the local potentate to journey to the avian monster’s mountainside nest and affix a magical device to the Roc while it sleeps. The device, in turn, will grant shepherds and ranchers enough advance warning that they’ll be able to protect their flocks.
Players must bring a 9th level character. You may follow the official character creation rules as written in the Player’s Handbook or Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. New players may select two uncommon magic items or one rare magic item equipped by their character (WOTC items only unless DM permits)
