Early Summer Birding Stroll with Valley Forge Audubon

Early summer birding can offer an amazing variety of species as seasonal migrants and year-round residents are all very active with nesting and fledgling-raising activities. Norristown Farm Park is the perfect place to find many of these busy birds!
Come join our volunteer guides from the Valley Forge Audubon Society as they check out some of the birds’ favorite spots on a 1+mile route, scouting for everything from indigo buntings, orioles, and bluebirds to green herons, phoebes, and red-tailed hawks. Our easy birding will take about two hours, and you may come and go earlier if desired.
The wide path is mostly paved, with some flat, natural areas, and one or two areas with a slight incline, and can also accommodate those who have limited mobility or utilize a scooter, walker, or wheelchair.
No prior knowledge of birds or birding is necessary to attend - beginners are always welcome. And please, bring the kids along, even in strollers - our programs are open to all ages, although children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them, and dress for the weather. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended for comfort and safety (no summer sandals or flip flops). Accessible restroom facilities are on site.
Location: Norristown Farm Park; Parking lot 3.
No registration required.
GPS does not always take you to the right location of the park. Our educator, Rebecca can make sure you get where you need to be! [email protected]
