In concurrence with the current exhibition Early American Face Vessels from the George H. Meyer Collection, the South Carolina State Museum invites you to a hybrid symposium exploring the history and art of Southern face vessels, an iconic American art form spanning 200 years.
Early Southern Face Vessels: A Symposium will take place the weekend of July 10-11, 2021 at the South Carolina State Museum. On-site attendance will be limited to 50 people and attendees are invited to an opening reception the evening of Friday, July 9. All presentations on Saturday and Sunday will be available via Zoom for virtual attendees.
