After graduating from music school together, trumpet player Trevor Whitridge and drummer Skye Perez formed Beat Spirit, a high energy funk band based in Vancouver, BC. Mainly playing funk and jazz funk originals, the band combines intricate horn lines with complex rhythmic grooves to create their lively and upbeat sound. Always on the search for new sounds, songs, and ideas, Beat Spirit frequently writes and records fresh material. Joining Trevor and Skye in the band’s lineup is Adam Kyle - Tenor Saxophone, Seb Chamney - Guitar, Jimi Fraser - Keyboard, and Karl Wallace Deering - Electric Bass. Beat Spirit strives to create exciting music for audiences to enjoy and is always on the lookout for new festivals and events to perform at.
