About the Speaker
Wan's Ubin Journal (WUJ) began as a personal blog in 2018 documenting Syazwan's adventures as he traces his roots and family heritage back on Pulau Ubin. Since then, WUJ has grown into a social platform which advocates for the conservation and celebration of the Ubin Orang Pulau community, culture and heritage through kampung clean-up initiatives, guided heritage hikes and educational talks and panels. Syazwan is currently a final-year undergraduate at SUSS pursuing a degree in social work with a minor in sociology.
