Home Secretary
Home Secretary are a duo from South London, creating rickety and occasionally rhythmic non-songs that combine spoken word with improvised instrumentation. Expect to hear crude sound collage, fumbled instruments, and vocals whispered and proclaimed.

Simian Carbuncle
Simian Carbuncle are a guitar duo exploring the sonic possibilities of unorthodox techniques…
Matt Clark (MC3, Cosmic Transmissions Collective) and Adrian Southby (Chop Chop, Cosmic Transmissions Collective); two likeminded and exploratory improvisors regularly performing and partaking of the heady improvised music scenes of Brighton and London.
The rule has always been “no effects”
The experiment is about what sounds we can make with the guitar on its own…
…but with preparations, so sticking a file into the pickups to make an audio click is ok…

Zhao Jiajing
Zhao Jiajing is a sonic world architect and interdisciplinary artist based in London. Spanning spatial sound composition, generative sound design, installation, and new media, Zhao Jiajing's body of work delves into contemporary crises surrounding time, existence, and data. Zhao Jiajing approaches sound as spatial-temporal portals leading toward many possible worlds. Leveraging extensive field recordings, sound collage, and granular synthesis techniques, he curates sonic experiences that usher into cross-sensory worldcraft. Zhao Jiajing’s practice embraces the aesthetics of chaos and indeterminacy. He employs diverse generative techniques that grant autonomy to his artistic creations.

Flooded Access and Edin Suljic
Flooded Access is the performing name of musician and visual artist Martin Lau. His work involves the creation of improvised soundscapes, largely using electronics and flute. He created and runs Ealing Extranormal. Solo performances often involve live scoring NASA footage, silent movies and other public domain visual material.
Edin Suljic is a published writer, poet and artist based in London. His work has been exhibited at Tate Modern, and he performs internationally. Edin grew up in the multicultural, multinational society of former Yugoslavia, moving to the UK at the onset of the tragic Yugoslavian war in 1991. He likes a good story; telling and making stories about people in all their diversities is the best way of bringing people closer together.
Martin and Edin first performed together at the Whitechapel WriteIdea Festival and continue their conversation between words and sound tonight.
