About the Play
Amadeus takes us to 1823 Vienna, where aging composer Antonio Salieri claims he murdered the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Through Salieri’s eyes, we journey back to 1781, witnessing his growing envy as Mozart—vulgar, brilliant, and divinely gifted—threatens everything Salieri holds dear. Torn between admiration and resentment, Salieri sets out to destroy the man whose music he cannot match. Peter Shaffer’s gripping, fictionalized drama explores genius, jealousy, and the high cost of revenge.
Rated PG-13 for mature themes and violence.
