E. Songbird , a native singer, songwriter, entertainer from South suburbs of Chicago , IL. Categorizes herself as a “SOUL” artist, because whether you find her singing gospel, contemporary, R&B, or house music she always brings you music that is good for your soul. Songbird began singing and playing the piano at an early age and her love for all music was cultivated by her mother . Her professional music career began while singing as one of the lead singers of the gospel group N’tegri-T. During her time in the group they recorded and released their first single in 2011, “Keep me Safe” Elise has studied under the direction of Walt Whitman of the Soul Children of Chicago, Stellar award winner and vocalist DeWayne Woods, and Singer/ Songwriter Kevon Carter. She has also had the opportunity to share the stage with Gospel recording artists Jessica Reedy, Kim Burrell, Kierra Sheard, and James Fortune. Songbird's musical influences are Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, and Whitney Houston. In. 2020 E. Songbird recorded her debut single as a solo artist ,"Black Gyrl Magic", which has been an anthem for empowerment and encouragement for all little black and brown girls . She is currently working on her forthcoming EP which will be released Fall 2022.
