Emele Ugavule’s keynote will address the shifting relationship between machine learning and embodied knowledge practices in the Pacific through highlighting the tensions presented at the intersections of kinships systems, story making and digital divisions.
Emele Ugavule (Studio Kiin) is a Tokelauan Fijian storyteller. Her research and practice area of interest is Oceanic Indigenous-led storytelling, working across live performance, screen and digital media as a writer, director, creative producer, performer, educator and mentor. Her keynote will address the intersection of kinship systems, story making, machine learning and digital divisions across the pacific.
