Dónal Gunning is an Irish Musician originally from Dublin now based in Wellington, he draws on rock, folk, indie and punk influences.Dónal knows how to work the crowd and always brings a fun, energetic, intangible Irish charm to his shows. His lyrics are thought-provoking while his sound is uniquely powerful. His second EP ‘Zero Bucks Given’ is releasing in late August 2025.
The EP features the two singles Losing Weight and Your 1, both of which were exceedingly well received worldwide. Your 1 being added to local and international radio station rotations while Losing Weight's side splittingly funny music video and international playlisting speaks for itself.
Dónal achieved record Spotify listeners and record streams in conjunction with these releases, truly branching his fanbase. He maintains an active social media presence, regularly engaging with his fans.
Donal and his band The Bucks (Stan Sheppard, Mason Williams, Jake Bergstrom) are touring New Zealand from September - November this year with +15 dates across the North and South island to promote the release. Together, they produce a powerhouse performance.
