Come join us for this year's "Dyke and Trans March" to celebrate queer joy and show your support in fighting for queer rights.This year, in addition to celebrating queer existence, we gather in solidarity against the UCP anti-trans Bills 26, 27,and 29. Two of which are scheduled to take effect 2 days after the event.
The route begins in Bowforth Park, where we will be led in a land acknowledgment and an indigenous prayer. Then will march along the route to our destination at Prince Island Park, where we will be met with music, stage performances and attractions as we gather in celebration of our community and acknowledgment of the trials ahead.
Participants, queers and allies alike, are encouraged to arrive dressed as characters or authors of books that currently are, or have ever been banned. We encourage everyone to show up and demonstrate in resistance to all bigoted government censorship and exclusion of minority voices.
Trans rights are human rights. Trans kids matter. Queer lives matter.
