This singer/songwriter and accordionist has performed all over the world since debuting his band, Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers, at age 19.The 2023 Grammy award winner / 2024 Grammy Nominee Dwayne (Dopsie) Rubin hails from one of the most influential Zydeco families in the world. The Louisiana native is known around the world as the king of the Accordion because of his blues style and skill of playing, it tends to make you stand and watch and wonder how he's doing it. Dwayne has played and perfected his style over a 38-year span; since he was a kid the pure feel of zydeco and love for the music comes out in his playing!!
One of Dwayne’s Biggest Accomplishments was winning a Grammy Award for his work on the Sony Film Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Love Story! And not only that he’s also a 3-time Grammy nominee 2012, 2018 and 2024, 21-time Offbeat Winner for Best Accordion, Best Band, Zydeco Album, Best Zydeco Artist.
