Join us at the Data Visualization Society in New York City, the premier monthly gathering for professionals and enthusiasts in the world of data visualization. Our event is designed to inspire, educate, and connect individuals who share a passion for data visualization!
Speakers
Elena is a data visualization reporter and designer at Bloomberg News, where she creates graphics and interactives for stories covering a variety of topics including politics and immigration. Prior to joining Bloomberg, she was part of the graphics team at FiveThirtyEight, where she grew passionate about the intersection of data and design. She created custom visuals and conducted data analyses for stories on politics, abortion access, and neighborhood segregation. Before specializing in graphics, Elena was a general assignment reporter in Texas, working with newsrooms such as The Texas Tribune, the San Antonio Express-News, and The Texas Observer while pursuing her journalism degree in UT Austin.
Bianca is a Tableau/Alteryx Consultant with The Information Lab. Within her client organizations, she has spearheaded numerous projects aimed at enhancing data visualization and improving analytics efficiency. Some of Bianca's notable achievements includes developing corporate style guides, optimizing defunct dashboards, and increasing overall data utilization. Prior to The Information Lab, Bianca earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Mount Holyoke College and joined the first cohort of New York City's Data Analyst Training Accelerator, adding SQL, Python, and Tableau to her toolkit. In her spare time, she is a co-leader of the Data + Women NYC and API Tableau user groups, a rock climber, and a reader.
