Presentation

"GenAI for Chip Design: From PoCs to Production" by Jean-Christophe Glas (Arm)

The semiconductor industry is increasingly embracing Generative AI (GenAI) as a powerful tool for optimizing chip design processes. In this presentation, we will explore the journey of applying GenAI techniques to Hardware Design&Verification—starting from proof-of-concept (PoC) experiments to implementing robust solutions in production environments.

We will share insights gained from early-stage explorations, including key challenges, and the critical lessons learned from these PoCs. The presentation will also discuss how these concepts have evolved to become production-grade solutions, including practical strategies for scaling.

Attendees will gain an understanding of how GenAI can be leveraged to transform D&V, with real-world examples that illustrate the potential benefits and pitfalls. Whether you're an engineer, a researcher, or a decision-maker interested in the intersection of AI and Hardware D&V, this talk will provide actionable insights for driving innovation in this rapidly advancing field.

With 17 years of experience at Arm, Jean-Christophe has been at the forefront of technological innovation in the semiconductor industry. Initially specializing in GPU Hardware Design for over a decade, he transitioned to Productivity Engineering four years ago. In this role, Jean-Christophe has focused on harnessing the capabilities of artificial intelligence to enhance chip design processes. Over the last two years, Jean-Christophe has played a pivotal role in integrating AI tools that improve efficiency, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in hardware engineering.
