HOSTS
Boo Rigney plays acoustic guitar and sings everything from Joni Mitchell to bluegrass and folk standards. She also can be found singing jazz tunes frequently at Melvyn’s in downtown Palm Springs. Favorite thing? Vocal harmony!
Laura Coyle has been writing, recording and performing for many years winning a Billboard Songwriters Award along the way. Laura's work has appeared in various film and television productions and she has shared the stage with artists like Lisa Loeb, Jonatha Brooke, and Martin Sexton.
Joshua Winget has been playing music ever since he can remember, starting out playing brass in school bands, but his love for music exploded when he heard the Beatles at 7 years old. He’s been playing guitar and bass since 13 years old, played in many bands through college, ranging in styles from rock to pop to jazz, folk, and blues. He’s enjoyed an over 30 year career as a music editor for film and television, which he continues since he and his wife Tanya moved to the Coachella Valley 2 years ago.

UPCOMING PERFORMERS!

FRI, 5.31 - Laura Coyle with Sugar High
SAT, 6.8 - Francesca Brown and Rick Shelley
Singer-songwriter Francesca Brown is a California native, steeped in the sound and visual traditions of the Southwest. Her love for old timey country and folk is offset by an inherent Laurel Canyon meets California Country vibe. All of these influences coexist in her evocative soundscapes, which fall somewhere between Joni Mitchell and Loretta Lynn.

Americana singer-songwriter Rick Shelley emerged into the Southern California music scene in 2015. A richly evocative storyteller, his songs employ an economy of language that recall Texas troubadours like Robert Earl Keen and Guy Clark. He shares his hard-won wisdom with pathos, humor and grace. Every narrative is accompanied by indelible melodies and killer hooks. www.rickshelleymusic.com
SAT, 6.15 - Mojave Rhythm
Mojave Rhythm is a duo of musicians from the Joshua Tree area of California. Steve Lester is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Bobby Furgo is a violinist and keyboardist. Both of them also play in the Shadow Mountain Band. Bobby played in Leonard Cohen's band for 10 years, as well as many other well-known bands. They perform as a guitar/violin duo. Their repertoire includes folk, jazz, standards, country, rock, and originals. Cover songs are reworked into their own eclectic style.

SAT, 6.22 - Laura Coyle with Sugar High
SAT, 6.29 - Gyptuoso - Jeremie Levi Samson, Bob Hamilton, and Damien Lester
Come experience an ode to music's ability to bring people together with Gyptuoso, playing a blend of Eastern European, Classical, Jazz Manouche, and traditional Folk repertoires. Featuring Jeremie Levi Samson on violin, Damien Lester on Bass, and on the banjo (trust us on this), Bob Hamilton.
SAT, 7.6 - Sandii Castleberry and John Malcolm Penn
Idyllwild/Palm Desert musical entertainer Sandii Castleberry is truly a human jukebox! With her 700+ song repertoire, Sandii plays just about everything, from blues to bluegrass, and jazz standards to classic country. Sandii performs in venues from Temecula to Paso Robles and spent 20 years as an Arts Educator for Segerstrom's Center for the Arts in Orange County where she conducted music workshops and folk music assemblies in schools. She also performed several times at the Stagecoach Music Festival in Coachella during the early years.
John Malcom Penn's music is aimed squarely at the listener who enjoys truly original songs that are unique, introspective, at times funny and always thought provoking. There is something beneath the surface that commands repeated listening. Be advised that John and his songs will sneak up on you.
John came from the era of super trend changing creativity that was the California music scene in the 1970s. He shared the stage with personal friends and fellow artists such as Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell and Guy Clark, producing Guy's demo in 1970. He also worked with, and had a huge influence on, his long time friend and fellow Blue Night label mate Steve Spurgin.
SAT, 7.13 Bone Thumpers + Jessie Payo
The Bonethumpers are one of Southern California's best blues bands. Dynamic and fiery, with a hint of Texas and New Orleans mixed in, they pay homage to the old masters of the blues while leaving their indelible mark on every sing they perform.
SAT, 7.20 Nathan James
Nathan James is a true original American roots music artist who makes a lot of sound pickin’ and scratchin’ on his handmade invention of washboard guitar; stomping out funky beats on his custom foot percussion box; all while singing and blowing harmonica or kazoo to his own original music. But aside from all of these tools of the trade, his main focus is well crafted songwriting and his artistry is far from just a live show gimmick. Constantly touring Europe and the states, he never fails to bring the people an experience they’ll never forget. Nathan is also a well respected world renown roots and blues guitarist who is always in demand for back up many legends on stage and in the studio.
