Dustier than Ever, performed by Chris Cook and The Chris Cook Band, showcases a selection of Slim's songs - respectable renditions of Slim Dusty repertoire - interspersed with some of Chris’ memories from his years of friendship with Slim.Chris wrote three songs for Slim Dusty - When the Country's Wet, Diggin' a Hole in my Guitar and Rollin' down the Road. Chris plays energetic country guitar, skillful and toe-tapping fiddle and highly polished bluegrass/hillbilly banjo, whilst Rob Renfrew plays double bass and James Cantwell is on drums and percussion.
Chris traces the history of Slim's progression from his early days at NuIla Creek through to his recognition as an international performer.
Chris performs with infectious vitality, inimitable style and musical flair. Presented with the approval and endorsement of Joy McKean and the Slim Dusty Foundation in Kempsey.
