American singer/producer Durand Bernarr stands out for his irresistibly buttery, lithe voice, perfectly suited to his sultry mix of soul, jazz and R&B. Bernarr was background singer for Erykah Badu (his biggest influence) and built his popularity partly through YouTube, where he posts covers, his own music and comic commentary. That humour can also be found in Bernarr's lyrics, almost making you forget how virtuosic the underlying music and accompanying vocal harmonies are.
His new album BLOOM represents a new, deeply personal chapter in his career and celebrates love in its purest forms: friendship, self-discovery and community.
