DuoLab – Anna Jalkéus & Shipsea
Exploring Interactions between Harp, Voices, and Piano
Anna Jalkéus, voice, harp
Shipsea, voice, looper, piano
Experience the intuitive musical meeting between Swedish harpist and jazz vocalist Anna Jalkéus and Latvian countertenor and music producer Shipsea (Jānis Šipkēvics). Together they explore DUO as a creative space for musical experiments, vocal techniques, stage interaction, and improvisation—both a cappella and with instruments.
Anna Jalkéus

She has received the JEN Young Composer Showcase award, the Swedish Monica Zetterlund and Ted Gärdestad awards, and several STIM scholarships. Her debut album Estrogenia (2018) was praised as “original jazz at its best” (LA Jazz Scene), and her works for harp ensemble are frequently performed in the U.S.
Since October 2021, Anna has been Associate Professor of Jazz Voice at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, previously teaching at the University of North Texas. She continues to perform internationally as both vocalist and harpist, collaborating widely and appearing at festivals and major venues across Europe, the U.S., and Asia.
