Join Duo Dramatique and Lone Star College Cy Fair for the repeat of our recital “This Stabbing Shard”! This performance pairs poetry and music in a compelling story of war, loss and racial and political oppression, in a beautiful arch that leads towards redemption and hope.
Hear iconic poetry by Wilfred Owen, Dylan Thomas, Maya Angelou, Claude McKay and others, as it takes us on a journey together with music by Serge Prokofiev, Dmitri Shostakovich, Max Richter, Erberk Eryilmaz, and William Grant Still.
The artists perform music and recite poetry straight from the stage, telling stories of historical and social background of the works performed.
This recital is hosted and funded in part by Lone Star College Cy Fair.
