Basketball League Code of Conduct

Our league is committed to fostering a competitive, respectful, and enjoyable basketball environment for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators. By participating in this league, all players agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct:

1. Sportsmanship & Respect

• Treat all players, referees, coaches, and spectators with respect.

• Discriminatory language, threats, or harassment will not be tolerated.

• Disputes should be handled in a respectful manner.

2. Zero Tolerance for Fighting

• Any physical altercation, including but not limited to punching, shoving, or excessive aggression, will result in immediate removal from the game and permanent removal from the league.

• Verbal altercations that escalate to threats of violence will also be subject to league review and potential expulsion.

• Any player who instigates or retaliates in a fight will face consequences.

3. Game Attendance & Punctuality

• All teams must arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled game time to check in and warm up.

• If a team is not ready to play within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, they risk forfeiting the game.

• Consistent tardiness or forfeits may result in removal from the league.

4. Respect for Officials & League Staff

• Referee decisions are final. Arguing with or disrespecting officials will result in technical fouls and possible suspension.

• Any verbal abuse toward referees or league staff will not be tolerated and may lead to removal from the game or league.

5. Player Conduct On & Off the Court

• No intentional dangerous play, including unnecessary roughness or excessive fouling.

• No use of drugs, alcohol, or banned substances before or during games.

• Any actions that negatively impact the league’s reputation, including on social media, may result in disciplinary action.

6. Consequences for Violations

• Violations of this Code of Conduct will result in warnings, suspensions, or permanent removal from the league.

• The league reserves the right to enforce penalties at its discretion to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.

By participating in this league, all players agree to uphold these standards and accept any consequences for violations. Let’s keep the competition strong and the respect stronger.
