Join the Dunedin Soul Tribe every Wednesday at noon for our Dunedin Soul Stroll: Mindful Walking Meditation. This weekly walking meditation is an opportunity to connect with nature, community, and your inner self as we stroll through the scenic paths of Dunedin.
Whether you’re a seasoned meditator or new to the practice, all are welcome to honor your well-being in a supportive environment.
Meeting Point:
Dunedin City Hall (Louden St., Dunedin, FL)
Itinerary:
* Meet at 12:00 PM at Dunedin City Hall
* Walk to the marina along Main St passing downtown restaurants and shops.
* Stroll residential areas along Victoria Ave, enjoying the ocean views of beautiful homes
* Head to Monroe St. towards the Pinellas Trail
* Walk north on the Pinellas Trail enjoying the tree lined path until Skinner St. then head east to Main Street
* Optional stop at Escape Root for a refreshing juice, smoothie, or açaí bowl
* Return to Dunedin City Hall by way of Milwaukee by 1:00 PM
Walking Meditation Prompts:
1. Grounding Awareness: As you start your walk, take a moment to feel the ground beneath your feet. Notice the textures, temperatures, and surfaces. With each step, say to yourself, “I am grounded.”
2. Breath Connection: Focus on your breath as you walk. Inhale deeply through your nose, filling your lungs. Slow exhale through your mouth. With each breath, let go of distractions and draw in peace.
3. Mindful Observation: Look around you and take in the beauty of the environment. Notice the colors of the trees, the sounds of nature, and the feelings evoked by the landscape. What small details have you overlooked before?
4. Gratitude Reflection: Pick a moment during the walk to reflect on three things you’re grateful for today. Let this feeling of gratitude fill your heart as you continue your journey.
5. Body Scan: As you walk, take a moment to do a mental scan of your body. Notice any areas of tension or stress and consciously release that tension with each step.
6. Intention Setting: As you approach the marina, pause for a moment and set a positive intention or affirmation for the rest of your week. Let this intention guide you as you walk.
7. Community Connection: During the walk, engage in silent connection with fellow walkers. Share smiles, or if comfortable, exchange a few words of encouragement.
8. Savoring Refreshments: If you choose to stop at Escape Root, take your time enjoying your juice, smoothie, or açaí bowl. Reflect on the nourishment of both your body and spirit.
9. Closing Reflection: As you return to your car, reflect on the experience. How did this time in nature and community impact you? What thoughts or feelings linger?
Important Notes:
* Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
* Wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers for your comfort.
* This meditation walk is free of charge, starting Wednesday January 8th 2025.
