Sit back and relax as you hear the sounds of the Dunedin Children's Choir swirl around the stunning upper atrium of Tūhura Otago Museum! From the more lyrical melodies that you will want to sing-along to, to toe-tapping jazzy numbers, we know that you will thoroughly enjoy this performance. ???
Entry is FREE and you can check out the awesome museum and café at the same time! ☕️
You will hear the larger choir, as well as the smaller Chamber Choir (comprised of the older children of the choir). The Chamber Choir have recently achieved much success, having just competed in the World Choir Games in Auckland, 2024 and receiving a high level silver award. ?
The Dunedin Children's Choir is a choir comprised of 7 to 12 year olds from across the Dunedin region. The choir meets once a week on Wednesdays after school at Flagstaff Community Church, in Wakari. Led by Natasha Manowitz (Choral Director) and Susan Frame (Pianist), and Helen Rutherford (Guitar/Bass/Percussion), the choir explore songs from around the world, as well as developing their vocal, choral and musicianship skills. The team behind the Dunedin Children's Choir love seeing the children grow in confidence, and enjoy having a lot of fun along the way.
The choir is always open to new children joining and welcome enquiries through their email address: [email protected]. All children in this age range are welcome to join until all spaces are filled, and no prior experience is necessary. ?
We hope to see you at OM on the 20th! ???
