The Duet Club of Hamilton is the longest-standing women's musical organization of its kind in
Canada. The club was established by Hamilton music teacher Ellen Ambrose in 1889 and the
club has been making and promoting music in and for the Hamilton community for 135 years.
To mark this important milestone the Club is celebrating with a number of musical events and
the installation of a municipal heritage plaque at the Hamilton waterfront. We are writing to
The club’s 135th anniversary concert on Sunday April 28 at 2:30 p.m. at Melrose United Church
86 Homewood Avenue in Hamilton at Locke St. South.
The Chorus is named WOMEN IN SONG and we will perform tribute songs over the 135 years.
Tickets are $15 and $20 at the door.
