Make your weekend special! On March 15, two exciting factors coincide: the full moon and the peak of bird migration. Every year, enthusiastic birdwatchers in Malta monitor bird populations as they migrate through Malta on their way north to breed after spending the winter in Africa.
Join us for an all-age birdwatching activity, and you might find yourself exclaiming, "Ducks, Ducks, Ducks!" as you spot these amazing birds.
This year, we invite anyone interested in birdwatching to help us observe ducks crossing the Malta-Gozo Channel. If we're lucky, we might see Garganeys, Pintails, Shovelers, Ferruginous Ducks, and more. Alongside ducks, we may also spot flocks of herons, migrating harriers, and other species.
Meeting point: Ċirkewwa (https://maps.app.goo.gl/YVFXoVWnAAP2mRS68)
You can join and leave at any time between 08:00 and 11:00. Experienced birdwatchers will be on-site to assist with observations and identification.
