The picturesque National Botanic Gardens provide the magical backdrop for a by a highly-anticipated return to DICMF by magnetic French Quatuor Ébène. Since making its outstanding Irish début at the 2009 Festival, this charismatic and musically daring ensemble has gone on to cement its place in the first league of string quartets, appearing at prestigious venues and festivals across the globe and garnering multiple awards for its extraordinary recordings.
Their powerful, persuasive performances, consistently described as edge-of-the-seat concert experiences, together with their fresh approach to tradition and open engagement with new forms, have resulted in reaching a wide audience of young listeners worldwide. Music by Maurice Ravel, Robert Schumann and the Swiss composer, Richard Dubugnon, performed by these inspiring musicians guarantee a rousing and exhilarating conclusion to the 2023 Festival.
