Damascus Theatre Company announces DTC Kids auditions for Once on This Island JR!!DTC Kids is casting youth 3rd through 12th grades, ages 8-18. Beginners are welcome.
Once on This Island JR. is an adaptation of the popular Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale “The Little Mermaid” set in the Caribbean. The story follows Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a young man from a wealthy family. When Daniel is returned to his land, the gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.

AUDITION DAY:
Come prepared with sheet music to sing one 16-bar cut from a piece of music in the style of the show, or something musical theatre style that showcases your vocal talent. An accompanist will be provided. You will also be given lines to run and a brief bit of choreography to show your dance level.
Callbacks (if needed) will be on February 11. Some roles may be double cast. Cost if cast is $350 per child. Parent involvement is required. Rehearsals will be held in Damascus on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Saturdays. Show dates: May 15-17, 2025.
