dstreet acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which this event takes place, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We recognise that it is stolen land, and extend our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.Out of respect for the traditional custodians of this land we would like to offer free entry to any first nations attendees. Please reach out to us if this is you, and we will reserve you a ticket!
For the first time in 4 years of throwing parties, dstreet is emerging out of our warehouse home and throwing our first event in a licensed venue, bringing the community vibe to the iconic Sydney Opera house for Vivid Live. We’ve invited some of our favourite international and local artists to mark the momentous occasion, mad miran, Piezo, Kate Miller & Emelyne.
dstreet has become synonymous with Eora’s thriving underground, built around community and DIY parties in intimate warehouses. dstreet events are characterised by a cozy, communal vibe that is its core foundation, transforming industrial spaces into an open and welcoming home for their ever-growing community. Picture lush plants draped over steel beams, the warm wood of the custom built sound system piled high and towering over the DJ, contrasted by the concrete walls and subtle lighting making use of the high ceilings. dstreet is a space for music that is forward thinking and not bound by genre and a dance floor that is kind and open minded. As well as a constant focus on emerging local artists, dstreet has hosted an array of international talent over the past year including Woody92, Call Super, Maara, Pariah, Sybil and Garçon.
mad miran
Beloved for her eclectic and unpredictable style, Rotterdam-based artist Mad Miran is one of the most exciting DJs to emerge on the European scene in the last few years. Her versatile selection draws on everything – breakbeat, electro, IDM, minimal techno, acid house, old-school hip-hop – to create a sound quite unlike anything else out there. As she says herself: “Genres are disturbing. I play vibes.” Taking her experiences on the dance floors to the booth, she has graced the decks of institutions like Garage Noord, De School, Nitsa, Blitz as well as renowned festivals such as Dekmantel, Primavera, Solstice, Love International and more.
Piezo
Milan’s Piezo is an electronic music producer, DJ and sound artist working at the intersection of UK techno, sound-system culture and mutant dance music. A formative period spent living in Bristol led to releases on bass-heavy labels Idle Hands, Swamp81, Wisdom Teeth and Version, while his own label, Ansia, focuses on energetic dancefloor releases renowned for their uniquely spaced-out sound design.
Kate Miller
Kate Miller cut her teeth in her hometown of Melbourne before relocating to Berlin, where she made a name for herself with her seamless, vibrant blend of electro, IDM, footwork and drum & bass. When she’s not running her label and radio show Body Verse, she’s moving dancefloors at De School, Panorama Bar and Australia’s Cool Room with her irresistible grooves and transcendent taste.
Emelyne
An integral and much-loved part of the Melbourne dance music scene, Emelyne is known for her deep-dive sets that blend hip-hop, bass music, dub, broken beat, future grooves and experimental electronic music – with a dash of modern funk, boogie, soul and jazz. She curates Canopy, a monthly night dedicated to nurturing emerging and underground artists in the community.
