DSPCA 4 Day Summer Camp kids just finished 6th Class in National School ONLY - Please read carefullyAbout this Event
This Summer we are running a number of week long camps from 10th June to 23rd August 2024.
This 4 day camp is for children who have just finished 6th Class in National School ONLY. We cannot take students who are in different classes unfortunately.
This camp will run from Tuesday 6th August to Friday 9th August.
We will be running camps for children in different classes on different weeks:

We have decided to base the groups on classes not on ages to help us run a camp that is more fun and age appropriate. Unfortunately we will not be in a position to take children outside these groups.
We want to do something special for these students as they have reached an important landmark in their lives. This camp will be run more like the older Secondary School camps with slightly more grown up activities including a Certified Pet First Aid course.
We will be running a camp full of learning and fun with a lot of opportunities to meet exciting animals and to find out about what they eat, how they like to play and how best to keep them healthy. We will have a lot of activities aimed at teaching all about the animals in the DSPCA's care.
We will be covering topics such as Work of the DSPCA, Caring for Dogs, Caring for Cats, Caring for Small Fluffy Pets, Exotics, Horses & Donkeys, pigs, ducks & chickens, goats, wildlife and lots of other fascinating animals.
This 4 day camp will cost €192 per student for the week (10% discount for Junior Members or 10% discount for siblings).

Requirements
- This camp is just for the 4 days and is Tuesday to Friday.
- It is recommended that camp participants have an up to date anti tetanus vaccine.
- Camp times start sharp at 9.30am so we would appreciate arrival to be on time - we cannot accommodate early arrivals.
- Camp finishes sharp at 4pm - please note we need children collected on time as there may not be supervision available after 4pm.
- Suitable clothing for outdoor activities should be warn (no hoodies please). Remember to dress appropriately for the weather. Please refrain from wearing jewellery.
- Unfortunately we cannot take on people with animal allergies.
- Please notify us of any medical conditions or special requirements before applying - this will help us to make sure your child can be accommodated and that we can plan activities and is required as part of our Child Safe Guarding and Health & Safety requirments.
- Mobile phones may be brought and kept in bags but will not be allowed during the camp.
- Please bring a suitable pack lunch - please note we are a Nut and Banana Free Classroom so we would appreciate it if you could take this into account when planning and packing lunches.
- Please note as the DSPCA is a Working Animal Shelter some animals may not be available for viewing on the week of the camp, we will do our best to substitute these animals for others.
- If the camp has to be cancelled by the DSPCA due to Covid 19 we will be issuing a full refund.
- It is the DSPCA policy to have a ratio of 1:12 (one competent adult to every 12 children).
- A copy of our child Protection Policy is available on request.
