Join us for an engaging drystone walling educational workshop led by master craftsman Dave Goulder.This two-day event will take place at the Shieling on May 24th-25th.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn traditional drystone walling techniques, gain hands-on experience, and discover the history and craftsmanship behind this unique skill.
Saturday we will focus on wall building, and Sunday we will practice the art of repairing existing walls.
Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, this workshop is suitable for all levels.

What's included:
Full tuition and instruction from a dry stone wall expert.
*1 simple evening meal Saturday and Sunday (optional)
Tea & Coffee throughout the day available.
Simple set up, i.e composting toilets, off-grid eco centre, no bells or whistles.
Optional evenings by the fireside with music, storytelling etc.
Community and craic.
*Meal may include wild meat (i.e locally hunted venison) however we can also cater for vegetarian/gluten free. Do let us know your food requirements and if you have any allergies.
*If you're camping it's best to arrive on the Friday early evening from 4pm, to get your tent set up and settle in/be on site for the morning start of the course.
Instruction will aim to finish by 5pm on Sunday, with a meal served at 6pm to close the day.
We ask that you prepare to leave the site Sunday evening by 7pm unless otherwise requested, if you need to stay Sunday night then you can for an additional fee (get in touch).
