Join us at MNA’s most recent Newaygo County Sanctuary, Brooks Oak Pines Barrens. Sanctuary Stewards will introduce this globally imperiled ecosystem and discuss the unique factors that created and define it. We will remove invasive plants such as Scott’s Pine and native Pin Cherry and Oak which threaten its existence.A hike down the North County Trail to visit Dry Sand Prairies on National Forest lands in various stages of restoration and preservation, will fill the second half of the morning.
Space is limited, so register early.
About 1 pm, you are welcome to enjoy lunch together at Newaygo Brewery in downtown Newaygo.
Bring work gloves and personal tools if available. Some tools will be provided.
