Through many songs and dances to the beat of the drum, the Ancestors found a deep spiritual relationship with the mysteries of life. The drum is recognized as a living being and holds a powerful connection with the Earth. For many, it carries the energy of thunder and lightning, and when played, it aligns us with the rhythms of Mother Earth and calls forth the spirits of our Ancestors.
The drum is the heartbeat of Mother Earth and has been used for centuries across cultures as a sacred tool for healing and celebration. When we reconnect to this heartbeat, the healing and balance we seek come naturally. Each drum is unique, carrying its own sound, energy, and purpose. What will your drum sound like?
The hide used to create a drum holds its own medicine. Elk teaches stamina and the wisdom of pacing yourself. Buffalo reminds us that abundance flows when we honor all relations with gratitude. Deer brings the power of gentleness to touch the hearts of those seeking peace and healing. Moose connects us to our inner depth and wisdom. Horse offers the medicine of freedom, power, and compassion balanced with patience.
Each drum is created in a sacred way, honoring the spirit of the animal and the circle of life it came from. We will birth our drums in community and close our time together with a shamanic journey to receive each drum’s name.
Please bring your own lunch, snacks, and drinks. Pricing depends on the size and type of hide you choose. A 50 percent deposit is required at registration to ensure your materials are prepared with intention. Please include your first and second hide preference when registering.
