DRUM BIRTHING - THE SHAMANIC WAY. ABOUT WENDY
‘’Hello my name is Wendy Ravenowl.
I have been birthing drums for many years. For the last 10 years facilitating Drum birthing and Shamanic tools Workshops.
I come from a long line of ancestors steeped in Shamanic traditions.
Using the hide from animals that have led a good long life from managed wild herds, they often carry some scars.
When we prepare the hoop (the bones) with our energy, and lace on the hide, we bring that animal into being again. “Birthing” honouring that life, the Shamanic way allows us to journey with them. This can help us to connect with the ancestors with the aid of animal spirit guides.
Having worked many years with all kinds of animals, both exotic, and our own British species. From the jungles of Columbia to the beaches of Cornwall. I can give an insight to how these animals can help the shamanic healing work we do with the drum. Helping us to move forward in’’

If you decide to join, Wendy will send you her bank details, so you can pay by bank transfer. Or you can pay by PayPal.
At point of booking, you need to decide if you would like horse hide, goat or deer. Other hides are sometimes available.
ON THE DAY
The day starts at 10.30am, with a shamanic journey of intent.
We then prepare the bones. The (hoop).
Crafting the beater is next
After lunch we lace (umbilicus) the drum.
If you would like to add a heart stone, then please bring one (or choose and purchase one from the DAN ROX SHOP). It should be 50p size, an uneven shape and not to smooth is best.
Finish with a bonding ceremony, in the company of the ancestors.
Wendy will supply everything for your drum (apart from heart stones), plus beads feathers and bits. If you would like to bring something yourself then please do so.
Everything is prepared for you in shamanic ritual the hide is ethically sourced, and will have spent time under the moon with crystals and sacred herbs.
This will be a special day birthing your own shamanic drum.
