Drug and Alcohol Awareness - New and Emerging Trends

Training will be delivered in person - Manor Farm Community Association, Walsall

The Beacon Young Persons Service, delivered by Change Grow Live, are offering training to professionals across Walsall.

The sessions will provide attendees with a comprehensive insight into drug and alcohol awareness. There will also be a focus on new emerging substances and local trends. The sessions have been designed with frontline professionals in mind to support your current practice.

We will cover a variety of different substances, local trends in Walsall and the West Midlands, new emerging substances, the availability of substances with new technologies and a comprehensive overview of the referral pathways for support.

These sessions are ideal if you want to learn more about different substances, their effects and what support is available to young people locally.. It is also a great opportunity as refresher course for any professionals who have not had any recent drug or alcohol specific training

Session Aims

To gain an insight and understanding of substances, with a particular focus on local trends and emerging drugs, also the availability and accessibility of substances through modern technology and social media.

To increase confidence and awareness around agency and frontline worker responses to dealing with drug and alcohol issues in relation to young people

​To have a better understanding of The Beacon YP service and the support we provide to young people across Walsall

To give a comprehensive overview of the referral pathways for support.
