Join us for Drug Abuse Prevention Training for Community Professionals!
The workshop "Drug Abuse Prevention Training for Community Professionals: Having Solution Focused Conversations" provides a comprehensive approach to prevention, addiction, and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) by utilizing the Experiential Learning Cycle and Facilitative Training methodology. Topics covered include Prevention, the Culture of Prevention, the Care Continuum, substance misuse, addiction as a brain disease, and CADCA’s 7 strategies for community change, as well as system change strategies like Emotional Intelligence and Integrative Medicine for pain management and health issues including SUD. The training will be interactive, incorporating videos, exercises, discussions, and planning sessions to implement strategies effectively. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet for the session.
Training Workshop Goal: The training workshop aims to establish a cohesive understanding of "Drug Abuse Prevention Knowledge and Solutions" by fostering ongoing enhancements in community, state, and national efforts related to best practices for substance use disorder prevention throughout the care continuum.
Learning Objectives: This training workshop is designed to help participants:
1. Familiarize yourself with the "Three Levels of Culture" within Substance Abuse Prevention.
2. Comprehend the mechanisms of addiction, the behaviors associated with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), and acknowledge it as a "Dis-Ease of The Brain."
3. Learn effective methods to "Prevent Substance Use Dis-Ease Throughout the Lifespan."
4. Acquire the skills to implement "Solution Focused Strategies," including "Emotional
Intelligence" (EI) and Integrative Medicine (IM).
Training Workshop Summary:
The "Drug Abuse Prevention Training for Community Professionals: Engaging in Solution-
Focused Conversations" aims to enhance and expand participants' existing knowledge and experience related to prevention, addiction, and the prevention of substance use disorder. This training workshop is structured to respect participants' backgrounds while providing additional insights to deepen their understanding and practice. It is relevant for all service providers working with children and families across various professional fields, including state service providers, collaborators from Georgia Family Connection Partnership, members of Drug Free Community Coalitions, public health officials, educators, school administrators, counselors, interventionists, first responders, law enforcement, treatment providers, the recovery community, care specialists, and more. We invite you to participate in this valuable training workshop session to promote a “Culture of Prevention” through awareness, vigilance, service, and Pro-Action.
