Dr.rift is a musical project by award winning Winnipeg artist Kyle Halldorson.
It’s an emotional blend of Psychedelic and Progressive Rock pulsing with Halldorson’s Indigenous / Celtic roots.
A complex, cathartic, and catchy bloodletting of grief and anxiety honoring the dead, the living, and self. A vehicle to honor his late father; a celebrated Winnipeg musician himself who set Kyle on his path.
Now Kyle fronts each spellbinding full-band performance, adorning a signature bolo tie pressed with his father's ashes.
The debut album (out now) was mixed by the brilliant recording artist Cory Hanson (also of L.A. psych rockers Wand)

Cerulean Drift is a Winnipeg band with a fresh take on modern, dreamy indie rock — a sound they’ve come to think of as “dream rock”. It mixes the glowing melodies of dream pop with walls of fuzzed-out guitars and the kind of blistering solos rarely heard in that space. The latest tracks move through swirling layers of synths and guitars, but melody stays front and centre. On stage, the songs open up even further — energetic, jam-leaning performances that bring out the band’s edge and musicianship.
