About this Event
With a changing climate, it is now more important than ever to choose plants which can stand up to long periods of drought and heat. Fortunately, at St Mary's we have been doing that for a while, and the plants have been doing it for considerably longer in evolutionary terms!
In this workshop, you will learn about the coping strategies plants use, where and how to plant drought-tolerant varieties and, crucially, why now is the ideal time to do it.
We will look at a variety of beautiful and tough plants which require little or no watering, which you can use in your own outdoor spaces. There will be a chance to get your hands dirty with some practical work too.
