About this Event

Suitable for all ages. Adult supervision required at all times.

Running throughout the exhibition. 10:00 - 16:00 Tuesday to Sunday. CLOSED MONDAYS.

Free to join in, donations to pay for supplies are welcome.

NO PRE-BOOKING REQUIRED.

Inspired by our current exhibition 'Broken/Makeshift', we'll have free drop in activities in the Gallery as part of The Big Draw throughout half term!

Exquisite Corpse

(Yep that's what it's called.) A drawing game where each participant takes turns to draw a section of a person onto folded paper and passes it along. Popular with surrealist artists in the 1920's, we'll be adapting the game to create unusual decorative objects.

This is an ongoing collaborative drop-in, so you'll have to pop back to see what your drawing turns into!

Maquette Paper Pots

Using nets provided, decorate and draw out your own paper pots. Cut out the net and stick it together to create the 3D vessel. Feeling more architectural? Use paper and scissors to construct your own form using our current exhibition for inspiration!

About The Big Draw Festival

Since its launch in 2000, The Big Draw Festival has championed drawing as a universal language and a powerful tool for learning, self-expression, and innovation. Every October, organisers across the globe sign up to be part of the festival, hosting everything from hands-on workshops and exhibitions to large-scale collaborative projects.

The Big Draw Festival is made up of thousands of drawing activities that connect people of all ages with schools, galleries, museums, libraries, heritage sites, village halls, refugee organisations, outdoor spaces, artists, scientists, designers, illustrators, inventors and each other.
