PAINTING: Living Taonga
Make a long collaborative painting that slowly shifts from early morning to the evening.
At the beginning of the painting birds, lizards, and early morning creatures emerge from their nests and habitats and seek worms, nectar, and insects.
In the centre of the painting the sun is high and animals hang around the creek to drink and cool off beneath the trees.
As the painting moves towards evening the daytime animals prepare for sleep and the nocturnal animals – bats, morepork, moths – emerge and begin their waking life.
