About this Event
Join us for an afternoon of mindful making with a registered art therapist
Sunday 9 November, 3:30pm – 4:30pm
This workshop for a small group aims to create a space for connection and the creation of meaningful work alongside the exhibition at La Trobe Art Institute.
Participants are invited to bring artworks, new or in progress, to work on. Materials will also be available for you to create new work. A short warm-up exercise will be faciliated by a registered art therapist. All are welcome—no experience necessary.
As this workshop is set in a public gallery space rather than a private therapeutic setting, please be mindful that the focus is art-making and connection rather than personal struggles. This exhibition includes themes of institutionalisation and mental health. Please ensure you feel comfortable engaging with this content.
This project has been supported by La Trobe University, La Trobe Art Institute and Curatorial Practice at Monash University.
