This one-night-only special event will feature a screening of the dark comedy Drop Dead Gorgeous, along with an opportunity for attendees of any age and gender to enter the Mx. Rivoli pageant and compete for the first ever Mx. Rivoli title and sash. All profits from this event will go to the La Crosse Film Academy’s Lights, Camera, Action! Campaign raising funds toward the renovation of a new production and office space on the second floor of the Rivoli Arts Building.Drop Dead Gorgeous: This satirical mockumentary black comedy film, set in the small, conservative town of Mount Rose, Minnesota, in 1995, follows a small town beauty pageant and the extreme measures the contestants will take to secure the crown and advance to compete for the national title of Sarah Rose Cosmetics American Teen Princess. A film crew is on hand to follow the pageant as bizarre events unfold and things turn ridiculously competitive - and deadly - in this biting comedy. Starring Kirsten Dunst, Ellen Barkin, Kirstie Alley, and Denise Richards and featuring hysterical performances by Allison Janey, Brittany Murphy, and Amy Adams.

Entry and Procedures:
Fill out and submit pageant entry slip prior to film screening
Stop to see Shane Davis Photography to take your official pageant entry photo (Submission of photo is acknowledgement that photo may be used on social media)
Submissions will be reviewed by pageant judge panel consisting of Film Academy and Rivoli Theatre staff and board members
Top three entries will be posted on social media for public voting
Winner of public vote win the coveted Mx Rivoli sash and title
Judging Criteria:
Unique pageant flair
Interview response: “If I could wave a magic wand I would wish for….” (have fun with this! doesn’t have to be heavy)
