Very late, but still great. After a delay of almost nine months, Drive Moya – Vienna’s sonically innovative champions of underground genre-bending 90s vibes – AT LAST present their optimistically apocalyptic second album, ‘The Great End’, live in Vienna.
With the band finally managing to find a small gap in their constantly conflicting schedules, this is their first and only headline show of 2024 in Vienna.
Come and watch three men working just within the confines of their unrefined musical ability, rarely moving much on stage, but pushing at the boundaries of what kind of noise can be generated by a standard rock trio and still sound tuneful, soulful, even delicate.
Guitarist Juro sprays distorted and corrupted data from his instrument in surprising digital patterns, while bassist Simon bounces, bubbles, and bobs, and drummer Philip holds it all together like an overworked blacksmith with an unremovable earworm.
Second album ‘The Great End’, released on Noise Appeal Records on 9 February 2024, runs a wonderfully varied gamut of dreampop, grunge, post-rock and shoegaze, ranging from three-minute pop songs to deep, grooving rock explorations, and hitting a different mood with every track.
