Dressmaking for BeginnersStarting on Monday 15th September 17:30 – 19:30 £80pp
This 4-week course will start you on the road to being a happy ‘sewing bee’.
This course is aimed at those who’d like to make their own clothes but have been left baffled by sewing patterns. You’ll learn how to use a sewing machine and overlocker; both provided at the venue. No experience is required as we’ll guide you through each step.
During the sessions you will learn:
How to measure yourself and prepare your pattern of choice
How to prepare and cut your fabric for a successful project
Constructing your garment using professional sewing techniques used in clothes factories (any zips in first!)
During the first session, you’ll be able to purchase your pattern and suitable fabric from Unravel and Unwind, as sewing is so much more fun when you’re making something of your choice that you can be proud to wear at the end of it.

You will need to be able to commit to all 4 sessions.
Spaces are limited to 3 people.
Booking is required. The fee includes a 25% non-returnable deposit if you cancel less than 7 days before the event.

Things to remember:
* the class will run from 17:30 to 19:30 for 4 weeks

* there is limited disabled parking in Green Street and Sappers Walk
* Nearest car parks are in Balmoral Road, Jeffrey Street, James Street and Trafalgar Street
* Gillingham train station is a 5/10 min walk
