About this Event
Departure from Berlin on 1 October, Hbf.
The journey to Dresden station takes 1,50h. Once we are there, we will do a short warm-up and get going immediately.
The stages are structured according to the availability of accommodation.
Although the distances may be a bit scary, we are trained and we have the whole day to complete the stage.
We will ride at a comfortable speed, making some breaks during the day, the average could be 16km/h (approx) at this continuous speed the longest day, the first one, would be about 5 hours.
Stage 1: Dresden - Decin (Czech Rep.) 72km.
Stage 2: Decin - Litomerice. 50km.
Stage 3: Litomerice - Melnik. 55km.
Stage 4: Melnik - Prague. 47km. (Astronomical Clock)
Total distance: 225km.
The route: From Dresden to Melnik we will ride along the banks of the River Elbe, on the so-called Elberadweg, which is a cycle path that will cover 75% of the distance to be covered. A very high percentage of the route is very flat, with only a few inclines of very little gradient and very little distance, suitable for almost all fitness levels.
Once in Melnik, we will pass from fording the Elbe River to the Vltava River, which will lead us to the capital of the Czech Republic.
The route is very well signposted with signs every few minutes, in addition to which we will carry a map of the route and the support of the experience of having travelled and recorded the whole route previously.
The route is in many sections parallel to the railway track that will take us back to Berlin, so evacuation from the route is easy in case of technical or physical problems.
Bicycles: Mountain, road, trekking or electric bikes are not necessary, although there are a couple of details to consider.
Bicycle equipment: It will be "obligatory" to carry:
- Anti-puncture gel.
- A spare inner tube, in case the puncture cannot be repaired with gel.
- Front and rear lights.
- A couple of basic tools.
It is highly recommended that you check and adjust your bike before setting off.
Another recommendation, which everyone will choose whether to do or not, is to install panniers for the trip, in order to carry 85% of the weight in them, the rest can be carried in a backpack.
Carrying all the weight on your back is tiring and uncomfortable, and the hours spent on the bike can cause irritation in the groin.
Personal equipment, MANDATORY:
- Helmet.
- Gloves.
- Bib shorts.
- Mackintosh.
- Clothing suitable for the weather.
- Some high visibility clothing.
The organisation will also carry a first aid kit and walkies to be able to communicate in case we get a little further away for any reason.
Accommodation:
In Decin and Prafa:
In both places we have two flats with kitchen, where we can prepare a hot dinner for ourselves. We do not have individual rooms on the route.
Melnik and Litomerice: Here we are talking about accommodation with breakfast included.
The return: On day 5, after getting up, we will go to Prague train station where we will leave our bikes and panniers tied up in the luggage room so that we can spend the morning and half a day in Prague. Around 16:26 h we will board the train to Berlin.
Price of the activity:
Accommodation, organisation and guide. The train ticket is not included, neither the staff nor the bike ticket, because the price varies depending on when it is bought. The earlier you buy it, the cheaper it will be. Once the group is closed, 7 PLACES, you can ask for a group price if you make an early booking.
The price of the trip can be paid little by little, by the 13th of September it must be paid in full, as we have a cancellation period in the accommodation that is lost after a certain date.
The total amount is 214.27€.
Attention: Space on the train for bicycles is limited! I insist on the need to book and buy your ticket soon.

Salida desde Berlín el 1 de octubre, Hbf.
El viaje hasta la estación de Dresde dura 1,50h. Una vez estemos allí haremos unos breves ejercicios de calentamiento y nos pondremos en marcha de inmediato.
Las etapas se han estructurado en función de la disponibilidad de alojamientos.
Aunque las distancias puedan asustar un poco, estamos entrenados y, tenemos todo el día para completar la etapa.
Rodaremos a una velocidad cómoda, haciendo algunos descansos durante el día, la media podría ser de 16km/h (aprox) a esta velocidad continuada la jornada más larga, la primera, sería de unas 5 horas.
Etapa 1: Dresde - Decin (Rep. Checa) 72km.
Etapa 2: Decin - Litomerice. 50km.
Etapa 3: Litomerice - Melnik. 55km.
Etapa 4: Melnik - Praga. 47km. (Reloj Astronómico)
Distancia total: 225km.
La ruta: Desde Dresde hasta Melnik rodaremos por la ribera del Río Elba, por el llamado Elberadweg, que es un carril bici que cubrirá el 75% de la distancia a recorrer. En un porcentaje también muy alto es un perfil muy llano, con apenas algunas cuestas de muy pocos grados de inclunación y muy poco recorrido, válido para casi todos los "fondos fisicos"
Llegados a Melnik pasaremos de vadear el Rio Elba al Rio Moldava, que será el que nos guíe hasta la capital de la Rep. Checa.
La ruta está muy bien indicada con carteles cada poco tiempo, además de ellos, llevaremos un mapa de la ruta y el apoyo de la experiencia de haber recorrido y grabado todo el camino previamente.
El camino es en muchos tramos paralelo a la vía del tren que nos devolverá a Berlín, por lo que la evacuación de la ruta es fácil, en caso de problemas técnicos o físicos.
Las bicicletas: De montaña, de carretera, de trekking o eléctrica, no hace falta tener una superbici, aunque si habrá que tener en cuenta un par de detalles.
Equipamiento bicicleta: Será de "obligado cumplimiento" llevar:
- Gel antipinchazos.
- Una cámara de repuesto, por si el pinchazo no se puede reparar con gel.
- Luz delantera y trasera.
- Un par de herramientas básicas.
Es muy recomendable hacer una revisión y ajuste previos a la bicicleta antes de salir.
Otra recomendación, cada cual elegirá si lo hace o no, es la instalación de unas alforjas para el viaje, con el fin de llevar el 85% del peso en ellas, el resto se puede llevar en una mochila.
Llevar todo el peso en la espalda es cansado e incómodo, además, por las horas sobre la bici se pueden producir irritaciones en las ingles.
Equipamiento personal, OBLIGATORIO:
- Casco.
- Guantes.
- Culotte.
- Chubasquero.
- Ropa adecuada a la climatología.
- Alguna prenda de alta visibilidad.
La organización llevará además botiquín de primeros auxilios y walkies para poder comunicarnos en caso de alejarnos un poco por cualquier circunstancia.

En Decin y Prafa:
En ambas localidades tenemos sendos apartamentos con cocina, podremos prepararnos una cena caliente. En ningún caso tenemos habitaciones individudales durante la ruta.
Melnik y Litomerice: Aquí hablamos de alojamiento con desayuno incluido, .
La vuelta: El día 5, tras levantanos, nos dirigiremos a la estación de Praga donde dejaremos atadas las bicicletas y las alforjas en la consigna para poder pasar la mañana y medio día en Praga. Alrededor de las 16:26 h subiremos al tren dirección Berlín.
Precio de la actividad:
Alojamiento, organización y guía. El billete de tren no está incluido, ni el personal ni el de bicicleta, porque depende de cuándo se compre el precio varía. Cuanto antes se compre, más barato será. Una vez cerrado el grupo, 7 PLAZAS, se podrá pedir un precio grupal si se hace una pronta reserva.
El precio del viaje se puede ir abonando poco a poco, para el 13 de septiembre debe estar todo pagado, ya que tenemos un plazo de cancelación en los alojamientos que se pierde después de cierta fecha.
El importe total es de 214.27€.
