1 Weekend. 50 students. Countless Moments of Social Innovation.

DreamLarge Weekends is a program designed to educate and inspire tomorrow’s generation about community issues, empowering their imagination to create innovative solutions and make our community a brighter place.

How Does It Work?

We’ve asked local non-profits to share with us the meaningful challenges they’re trying to solve. Groups of students will team up with mentors, and together they’ll create an innovative solution towards addressing these issues.

Who Can Participate?

As a student: Any Sarasota County students from grade 6 to grade 9.
As a mentor: Any professional in their field, from college-level to CEOs, willing to lend their expertise and guide students toward a problem-solving mindset.
As a nonprofit: Any nonprofit is welcome to apply and participate by sharing your challenge. If you are interested in participating as a nonprofit, please reach out to [email protected] to apply.

Why Be a Mentor?

Anyone can be a mentor: innovators, creators, marketers, developers, designers, entrepreneurs, teachers, leaders, & everyone in-between. Mentors use their expertise to help students think outside-the-box and create the best solutions possible.
Share expertise: Guide young minds to develop solutions for real challenges.
Expand your network: Connect with a diverse group of motivated students, fellow mentors, and nonprofits.
Professional growth: Refine your leadership, communication, and collaboration skills as you guide students.

Event Schedule

This event lasts an entire weekend, starting Friday, October 13th until Sunday, October 15th. Students are required to commit to the entire weekend if they wish to participate - the same is recommended for mentors.
