Artist Talk & Demonstration: with Joe Abboreno
Join illustrator and muralist Joe Abboreno for an engaging talk and live demonstration on his creative process. Joe will share how he uses the doodle grid technique to transfer and enlarge his artwork for murals — combining playful, freeform doodles with digital imaging to accurately bring his designs to life on a grand scale. Attendees will get an inside look at how this inventive system helps transform sketches into vibrant public art that inspires and delights.
About the Artist
Joe Abboreno is an illustrator and muralist whose work blends bold color, nostalgic imagery, and a love of fantasy. Influenced by the classic Dungeons & Dragons era, he’s created illustrations for publishers such as Goodman Games, Forbidden Games Inc., and Paradigm Concepts, Inc. His murals brighten the Oak Park, Illinois area, including the Val’s Halla memorial and Dream Bigger, Work Wonders at Wonder Works. Joe believes in creating art that sparks joy and reminds us of the power of imagination.
