About this Event

Ideal for: Ages 6-15 years

Drawn to Change the World is illustrator and author Emma Reynolds’ graphic nonfiction book about 16 youth climate activists illustrated by 16 artists from around the world. In this interactive workshop, Emma will reveal more about these inspiring true stories that highlight the importance of taking charge and creating change, before giving you the chance to create your own peaceful protest signs and add to our giant Action = Hope wall!

This session will be an inspirational and hands-on way to learn more about the climate and nature crisis.

Emma Reynolds is a children's author and illustrator from Manchester. Her picture book Amara and the Bats, all about bat conservation, peaceful protest, activism and hope, was a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard, National Science Teacher Association 'Best in STEM' and an Empathy Lab 2022 selection. In 2019 she founded #KidLit4Climate, the first global illustrated climate campaign, in solidarity with the youth climate strikers. In September, their graphic novel, Drawn to Change the World, featuring biographies of 16 youth climate activists and illustrated by 16 acclaimed artists from around the world, was published. Emma runs interactive accessible story time and drawing workshops for children and families.
