About this Event
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
In this beginner friendly class, you’ll learn how to apply two-dimensional needle felting techniques to your very own fiber drawing, all made with wool. Felting is a fiber process that uses wool roving or batting, applied in either a wet or dry method, to interlock the fibers into themselves. Applying the dry method, Nastassja will take you through image transferring, creating basic shapes, color blending, layering and building texture. You’ll leave with a unique felted drawing ready to hang!
All materials are provided in a Needle Felting Toolbox.
About the Instructor:
D for Dolls is a collection of handmade needle felted figures. I utilize various fiber art methods, including but not limited to - weaving, crochet, and batik printing- to craft soft sculpture visuals. Each felted figure is unique in that no two dolls are the same, and embody their own individual charm, personality and sass. Drawing inspiration from my mother’s African figurines and porcelain dolls, my work embodies the playfulness of dolls with the statuesque nature of sculpture.
